Walnuts that are removed from storage are sent to the cracking department where they are mechanically cracked. Kernels are screened into a series of sizes and are air separated from the shell. Then, they move through electric colour graders. The product is sorted and physically inspected.

What is SORTEX AColor Vision:
The SORTEX A ColorVision™ InGaAs optical sorter delivers extraordinary efficiency in optical sorting. The sorter uses up to 3 visible wavelengths which allow an excellent colour detection and the InGaAs technology efficiently removes challenging foreign material, offering processors maximum food safety.
InGaAs Technology: Enhanced InGaAs technology provides much better separation of good products from foreign material of the same colour.
